Simona's a really good friend of mine. We met on the first day of our international orientation in Fall 2010. She's a talented flutist and a wonderful friend with an addictive personality. We'd been planning this photoshoot for weeks, so yesterday was the day.
Guess where we took pictures at? The president's backyard. It was Simona's idea. She said she jogged past his house that morning and thought, "Hey, his garden is so beautiful. It'll be perfect for the photoshoot."
And she was right. His backyard was a massive garden of vintage beauty. A small fountain sat among the green bushes and green tendrils crept around the white wooden pillars. It was a beautiful spot. A few feet away, fishes swam in a pond surrounded by big rocks.
Unfortunately, it started raining the moment we got there. It poured for several minutes, stopped a few minutes, and then continued. It went on the entire hour. By the end of the photoshoot, the rain mellowed to a small drizzle. Nevertheless, we got our shots :)
I wanted to focus on expressions. So as our photoshoot progressed, I asked Simona to attempt some model-esque shots. We worked through them and hey, for someone who never had any modeling experience, Simona did amazing! :)
